E! News confirms that Odom was absent to tend to his father, who is battling an illness.
Lamar and wife Khloé Kardashian Odom flew into Los Angeles earlier in the week to be with his father, Joe Odom, who resides in LA.
Although specific details have not been released, a source told E! News, "Lamar's dad had a health scare. It's very serious."
Odom's father reportedly told RadarOnline, "I'm doing a lot better. But I'm depressed right now. I'm getting some rest."
Coach Rick Carlisle announced that the Dallas Mavs player "will rejoin us after the [All-Star] break," meaning sometime next week.
