The nail art trend shows no sign of abating. In fact, we can’t even call it a trend anymore! Enter YSL’s new line of topcoats, La Laque Couture Tie & Dye. Each can be worn on its own, or layered with polish for a shimmery, crackle-like finish. Check out the three looks we got with the base color Violine Surrealiste, an intense fuschia from YSL's La Laque Couture collection, and its coordinating topcoat, "Hip Coat."
Base Coat By Itself
The line's must-have-for-summer polish shades come in four '60s-cool colors: Corail Divin, a vibrant, happy orange; Rose Renaissance, a poppy pink; Bleu Majorelle, a slick ice-blue; and #14 Violine Surrealiste, the intense fuschia you see here.
Top Coat By Itself
The coordinating top coats are called Cool, Pop, Hip, and Ice. When worn by itself, the glossy #3 Hip Coat looks sweet and low-maintenance. Just a hint of sheen and a kiss of color!
Base Coat + Top Coat, Layered
When we applied Violine Surrealiste as a base and layered Hip Coat over top, the coordinating polishes came together to form a whole new candy-esque, superglossy shade. You can experiment, pairiing any of the bases with any of the top coats—we love Rose Renaissance topped with the orangey, shimmery Cool.
