Liquified! Four Red Liquid Lipsticks To Try Now

Though glossy lips look fresh for a hot, sunny day, the heat can sometimes leave behind an unsavory stickiness. We have a better solution that won’t melt away: liquid lipsticks.

Bigger than ever, it seems like every major makeup line has its own version these days. We love using these innovative lippies to make a bold statement in electric orange, candy-shop pink, and especially, classic red. The paint-like potions tend to stay put, while giving you the most intense lip hue available on the market. If you’ve been itching to hop on the bandwagon, here’s your chance. Check out a few of our favorite reds below!

LUSH Liquid Lipstick

LUSH just keeps on getting better. We are in love with their liquid lipstick, which comes in a cute, generous, apothecary-style glass bottle. With help from ingredients like rose wax and jojoba oil, the formula is moisturizing, and the pigmentation is electric. Of all the products listed, this one has an attractive sheen that lasts. Like all LUSH products, you get a personalized “made by” label on the bottom of the bottle. Ours was made by Caroline on January 29—who made yours?

MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolour

Our favorite part about this staple liquid lipstick is that the finish is entirely up to you. The fully pigmented color glides on evenly and dries matte. To change it up, flip the product around, and slick on the clear gloss (which smells vaguely of white chocolate) for a little lustre or a whole lotta shine. This product wears long. We’re talking really, really long. In fact, it may be the Sharpie of lipsticks and could survive a makeout marathon—no exaggeration.

Lime Crime Velveteen

This is a newbie to Lime Crime, but it’s already a bestseller. Thick and luscious, this rich liquid formula was the most matte of everything I tried, with a soft finish worthy of the product’s moniker. The almond liqueur-like scent is romantic and seductive. Due to the high pigment, I found them to stain a bit when I washed my face before bed—though waking up with rose-tinted lips did brighten my morning! Currently, there are two reds, along with the promise of more adventurous colors coming soon.

Hourglass Opaque Rouge

Now here’s a chic and modern way to wear lipstick. The finish is matte but waxy, ensuring comfortable-to-wear color that lasts. I couldn’t stop tinkering with the sleek tube, which has a strangely appealing, flattened shape. There was no flaking or feathering with this fragrance-free pick. A great basic to have in your arsenal.
