South Carolina wedding for natives of B.C. and California
A month ago, Gossip Girl star Blake Lively and big-screen himbo Ryan Reynolds decided to make it official. And after speedy and silent planning, they did, getting married on Sunday at a plantation in the suburbs of Charleston, S.C.
Don’t ask me why there: she’s a California girl; he’s from Vancouver.
There were about 70 guests, all made to leave their cellphones at the door, to make sure no unauthorized photos got out, I suppose. Florence Welch, of Florence and the Machine, sang at the couple’s reception; so did Bette Midler. Blake wore Chanel; Ryan had a Hugo Boss tuxedo.
The lovebirds met during filming of Green Lantern, in 2010, but didn’t start dating until roughly a year ago. This is Lively’s first marriage; Reynolds spent a couple years hitched to Scarlett Johansson.
Blake is 25; Ryan is 35.
