Beauties, have you noticed that more and more fashion designers are trying their hands at beauty? Collaborations are great because they let you get a feel for a designer’s aesthetic without having to shell out big bucks for a piece of their clothing.
Charlotte Ronson for Sephora
Charlotte Ronson (sister to DJ Sammy, who dated Lindsay Lohan) teamed up with Sephora to create a collection that’s easygoing and simple to wear. It's based on the colors and types of makeup that Charlotte herself likes to wear, and she used it backstage at her spring/summer 2012 show during New York Fashion Week. The collection is available in stores now.
Marc Jacobs and MINX
Who doesn't love Marc Jacobs? The designer took his collection to the next level by collaborating with MINX on a set of stick-on nail polishes that feature prints from his new spring/summer 2012 collection. The nails are called One Night Only and are designed to last just that! Think of it as a passionate but fleeting love affair. The nails are available now.
Gareth Pugh and MAC
Gareth Pugh is the next in a long line of designers to collaborate with beauty powerhouse MAC. Although no details have been released about what the line will contain, MAC says the collection will include multicolor products and accessories in special packaging. We may have to wait (eagerly!) until the line launches in November to see what the designer will come up with.
Alexander Wang and Sally Hansen
Alexander Wang enlisted the help of Sally Hansen for the first time at his spring/summer 2012 show to create three new nail colors! Although the runway models wore Parchment, a creamy white translucent shade, Wang also created two dark colors, Oxblood and Petrol. The shades will be available next spring.
