You'll Never Guess Which Kitchen Ingredients Are in This DIY Mask!

Now that October's in full swing, we're excited for the chilly weather, ready for the feasts to arrive, and getting our skin care in check. An abrupt climate change can do strange things to your complexion, but we've been experimenting with a DIY mask that uses only handful of autumn's most notable spices. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and honey—nope, we're not talking pies, we're talking skin. The mixture of these ingredients not only smells divine, it acts as an anti-inflammatory for sudden breakouts. Honey is a well-loved humectant, while cinnamon helps with eczema, acne, and cell turnover (even featured in Kate Somerville's cult-loved ExfoliKate). Enjoy the recipe below, and please save some for the holiday dishes.

HONEY CINNAMON FACE MASK

Ingredients
1 Tbsp honey
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp nutmeg powder
Directions
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, then apply the mask to clean skin. Let it sit for approximately 20 minutes, then wash off with lukewarm water, gently rinsing in circular motions. Moisturize as usual and apply weekly. Because cinnamon brings blood to the surface of the skin, sensitive skin types should take precaution when attempting this recipe.
