Milano, Italy, January 22nd 2013 – Prada opens a new store in Abu Dhabi, in the prestigious “Marina Mall”, thus continuing the brand’s retail network international expansion.
The store, designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, has a total surface of over 260 square metres, and offers the women’s ready-to-wear, footwear, bags and accessories collections as well as the men’s luggage and accessories collection.
The storefront, clad in precious black Marquina marble, frames the entrances, windows and light boxes, in a sophisticatedly elegant rhythm of full and empty volumes.
Inside, there is one single environment, characterised by a beige carpeted floor with a black and green border to set off the room’s perimeter, and by the green velvet “Clover Leaf” sofas, designed by Verner Panton and exclusively reproduced for Prada.
The women’s bags and footwear display area is defined by walls clad with mirrors and green fabric, and by thin crystal and polished steel cases with marble drawers, the ready-to-wear collection is presented in transparent perspex cabinets.
Furniture is completed by rich display counters where polished steel, glass, perspex, black marble and coloured saffiano leather are either juxtaposed or combined in order to highlight the products presented.
