Pamper Your Hands

We put our hands through daily battles, exposing them to extreme weather conditions and sun damage—even everyday activities like washing dishes and exercise can dry them out. Because the skin on top of your hands is extra thin, your hands are one of the first places to show the signs of aging. Good news is that it doesn't require many steps or products to keep them soft and supple. Here are some tips on how to pamper your hands (once or twice a week at night) to keep them feeling great and looking youthful!

HOW TO Pamper Your Hands

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with a mild soap and lukewarm water. If necessary, use a nailbrush to clean your fingernails.
  2. Like the rest of your body, your hands also need a good exfoliation every so often. Using your face exfoliator or your own D.I.Y. scrub recipe, gently massage the back of your hands. To create your own D.I.Y. hand scrub, mix sea salt, extra virgin olive oil, honey and a few drops of lemon juice together. Rinse your hands with lukewarm water and pat dry. You should only exfoliate your hands once or twice a week.
  3. Liberally apply your favorite hydrating hand cream or petroleum jelly. If you have cotton gloves, slip them on before bed. During the week, apply your hand cream on every (or every other night at the very least!).
Beauty Tip: Don't forget to apply an SPF moisturizer to your hands during the day. Your hands get just as much sun as your face and are also susceptible to sun damage!
