Runway To Real Life

We spotted lots of trends on the catwalks during fashion week, but during the fall/winter shows three in particular stood out. Bold brows á la Brooke Shields, dark wine-colored lipstick, and bright peacock-hued eye shadows were the most popular looks, but also ones that can seem a bit daunting to try in your everyday life. Celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh (she does the makeup for Twilight's Ashley Greene!) and got her tips on how to incorporate these looks into your everyday makeup routine.

1 Dark Lips

"The best way to ease yourself into this trend is by starting with a stain or a gloss," says Mai. "You should also warm up the rest of your face with a light bronzer. Apply it all over your skin so the rest of your face isn't too pale."

2 Bright Eyes

"If you don't feel confident enough to start with a bright eye shadow such as green or yellow, try a light apricot or gold," says Mai. "These colors are still eye catching and will get you used to color. Stay away from a dark eye liner such as black or brown, but apply mascara to define your eyes."

3 Bold Brows

"The best way to fill in your brows is with a combination of brow pencil and eye shadow," says Mai. "By combining both products you get a more natural look. Just be sure to finish off with brow gel to hold the shape!"
