Don’t pack up your shadows after the soda bread has gotten stale. This year, the experts at the Pantone Color Institute have proclaimed Emerald the color of 2013. “The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Institute in an official statement. (Except if you’re colorblind. Sorry, canines and colorblind humans!)
“Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal, and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world,” she adds. “This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.” And, of course, cosmetics as well—the color is everywhere now.
